Specifies structural property, marking and physical requirements for mechanically stress-graded timber. Physical requirements are given for strength considerations as well as for utility considerations. Originated in Australia as SAA MP18-1966. Previous Australian editions AS 1748-1978 and AS 1749-1978. Originated in New Zealand as part of NZS 3618:1984. AS 1748-1978, AS 1749-1978 and part of NZS 3618:1984 jointly revised, amalgamated and redesignated AS/NZS 1748:1997. Second edition 2006.
