The footing systems for which designs are given include slab-on-ground, stiffened rafts, waffle rafts, strip footings and pad footings. Provides requirements for determining wind actions for use in structural design; includes revised sections on combination factors and cantilevered roofs and new provisions for torsion and windborne debris testing; provides for the treatment of doors as openings, and increased local pressure factors; wind speeds and direction factors are given for regions in Australia and New Zealand; factors are provided to cover the environment around the structure, the geometry of the structure and the dynamic interaction of the structure with the wind.

The 2011 edition of AS/NZS 1170.2 is amended as follows.
