Sustainable building design should consider durability, affordability, resource conservation, intra and intergenerational social equity aspects, and stakeholder’s perspective throughout its service life; this research has applied life cycle sustainability assessment (LCSA) framework to estimate the sustainability performance in terms of a single score, and to identify avenues for sustainability improvement strategies of buildings.

This document has been prepared by icare HBCF: Insurance and Care NSW (icare) provides services in the administration of the Home Building Compensation Fund for the NSW Self Insurance Corporation.

The material in this document is to provide guidance to icare distributors, builders, and builder advisors as a key reference source for applying for and maintaining eligibility under the Home Building Compensation Fund (HBCF).

Policy of insurance.

These requirements are additional to the NATSPEC Simple Domestic specification requirements and if differences in interpretation between the two should arise then these requirements take precedence.

All proposals shall comply with this Minimum Design and Construction Specification (MDCS) together with any additional requirements issued by the Principal with the tender call and any encumbrances, building envelopes, Building Guidelines and Council requirements to which the proposed land is subject.
