This Certifier Practice Standard is prepared by the Commissioner for Fair Trading under section 14 of the Building and Development Certifiers Act 2018 (B&DC Act); Section 14 provides that a registered certifier’s conditions of registration may require the certifier to carry out certification work in accordance with specified standards or methodologies prepared by the Commissioner.

The Design and Building Practitioners Act 2020 and Design and Building Practitioners Regulation 2021 (the DBP legislation) were established to raise the standards of building design and building work.

These are Guidelines issued by the Secretary of the Department of Customer Service (the Secretary), under Schedule 3 of the Design and Building Practitioners Regulation 2021.

Provides practical guidance to PCBUs on how to manage health and safety risks associated with workplace noise.

Provides practical guidance for PCBUs, including those persons who design, construct, import, supply or install plant or structures, on how to eliminate, or if that is not possible, minimise the risk of falls from height in workplaces.

Applies to the performance of all work and to all workplaces covered by the WHS Act where there is a risk to health and safety from psychosocial hazards.

Provides practical advice about how to manage risks associated with mobile cranes, vehicle-loading cranes and other mobile plant used as a mobile crane to raise or lower a freely suspended load.
