This Amendment applies to the following elements of AS 3958:2023: Figures 3.3.3.1, 3.3.3.2, 3.3.4.1, 3.3.5.1, 5.4.7.3(D) and the Bibliography.

Sets out requirements for waterproofing membranes for external above-ground use, installed in accordance with AS 4654.2.

Provides a method for the measurement of airborne sound reduction index to building partitions such as walls, floor/ceiling assemblies, doors, windows and other space dividing elements.

Recommends design criteria for conditions affecting the acoustic environment within building interiors to ensure a healthy, comfortable and productive environment for the occupants and the users.

Sets out a consistent and reliable approach to the design and installation of external waterproofing membrane systems.

AS ISO 717.2:2024 identically adopts ISO 717 2:2020, which provides a method whereby the frequency dependent values of impact sound insulation of building elements and in buildings (from both laboratory and field measurements) can be converted into a single number to characterize the acoustical performance

AS ISO 717.1:2024 identically adopts ISO 717 1:2020, which provides a method whereby the frequency dependent values of airborne sound insulation of building elements and in buildings (from both laboratory and field measurements) can be converted into a single number to characterize the acoustical performance

Sets out minimum requirements for the materials, design and installation of waterproofing for domestic wet areas in Class 1, Class 2 and Class 4 buildings as defined in the NCC. It also applies to wet areas within Class 3 to 9 buildings as if it were a Class 2 or 4 part of a building.

AS/NZS 3019 sets out the requirements for periodic assessment of existing electrical installations which are connected to a low voltage a.c. supply system (exceeding 50 V a.c. but not exceeding 1 000 V a.c.). Inspection and/or testing is intended, as far as reasonably practicable, to determine whether the installation and all its constituent equipment is in a safe condition for continued use.

AS 3958:2023 provides instructions on the preparation of the background and the bonded fixing and grouting of floor and wall tiles including mosaic tiles and panels.
