AS/NZS 3019 sets out the requirements for periodic assessment of existing electrical installations which are connected to a low voltage a.c. supply system (exceeding 50 V a.c. but not exceeding 1 000 V a.c.). Inspection and/or testing is intended, as far as reasonably practicable, to determine whether the installation and all its constituent equipment is in a safe condition for continued use.

This Guide is intended to supplement to the "Criteria for the Passive House, EnerPHit and PHI Low Energy Building Standards" ("Criteria") published by the Passive House Institute and posted online; it explains the Criteria's requirements given here in a brief and precise manner.

These requirements are additional to the NATSPEC Simple Domestic specification requirements and if differences in interpretation between the two should arise then these requirements take precedence.

All proposals shall comply with this Minimum Design and Construction Specification (MDCS) together with any additional requirements issued by the Principal with the tender call and any encumbrances, building envelopes, Building Guidelines and Council requirements to which the proposed land is subject.
