This Guide is intended to supplement to the "Criteria for the Passive House, EnerPHit and PHI Low Energy Building Standards" ("Criteria") published by the Passive House Institute and posted online; it explains the Criteria's requirements given here in a brief and precise manner.

The 2006 edition of AS 1288 is amended as follows.

The 2015 edition of AS/NZS 3500.4 is amended as follows; the amendment(s) should be inserted in the appropriate place(s).

The 2015 edition of AS/NZS 3500.1 is amended as follows; the amendments should be inserted in the appropriate places.

Sets out the requirements for the design, installation and commissioning of heated water services using drinking water or rainwater or a combination thereof; includes aspects of the installation from, and including, the valve(s) on the cold water inlet to any cold water storage tank or water heater and the downstream fixtures and fittings; applies to new installations as well as alterations, additions and repairs to existing installations.

These requirements are additional to the NATSPEC Simple Domestic specification requirements and if differences in interpretation between the two should arise then these requirements take precedence.

AS 1668.2 2012 sets out requirements for mechanical air-handling systems that ventilate buildings and car parks, and for ventilation based on the need to control odours, particulates and specific gases. Also known as AS 1668 part 2.

Specifies requirements for building practice and for the selection, placement and fixing of the various structural elements used in the construction of timber-framed Class 1 and Class 10 buildings, as defined in the Building Code of Australia, for non-cyclonic areas.
