AS 4459.16-2005 adopts and modifies ISO 10545 which describes a method for utilizing colour measuring instruments for quantifying the small colour differences between plain coloured glazed ceramic tiles, which are designed to be of uniform and consistent colour.

It also specifies requirements for the calibration of standard hardness blocks and indenters. In this edition, the testing and calibration requirements have been combined into one Standard.
