Specifies minimum requirements for the design, construction and testing of electrical installations that supply electricity to appliances and equipment on construction and demolition sites, and for the in-service testing of portable, transportable and fixed electrical equipment used on construction and demolition sites.

AS/NZS 3000:2018 is amended as follows.

Specifies requirements for couplers and accessories for scaffolding complying with AS/NZS1576.3 and AS/NZS1576.6.

Provides manufacturers and suppliers of suspended scaffolds and accessories with requirements to ensure the proper operation of suspended scaffolds.

Sets out design and operational requirements for scaffolding systems, scaffolding equipment and scaffolds. It includes specifications for catch platforms erected on scaffolds and covers temporary stairways for use on a general construction site.

Specifies requirements for electrical installations associated with connectable electrical installations used for the purposes of accommodation, habitation or other residential, commercial purposes or recreational uses that are intended for connection to external low voltage a.c. supply systems (i.e. 50 V a.c. to 1000 V a.c.) by either a detachable supply lead or a supply lead directly connected to the connectable electrical installation; includes requirements and provides guidance for the installation of extra-low voltage systems (i.e. less than 50 V a.c. or 120 V d.c. ripple free).
