Specifies requirements for the design, installation, commissioning and maintenance of automatic fire sprinkler systems for one and two family homes.

It applies to stores where individual gases (other than those which are covered by specific Australian Standards) are kept, and to stores where more than one type of gas is kept. Requirements for the location, construction and ventilation of stores are given. Recommendations for the management of emergencies and actions in the event of fire are provided in appendices.

Specifies requirements for the design, installation and commissioning and testing of fire hydrant installations that are used for the protection of buildings, structures, storage yards, marinas and associated moored vessels, wharves, and plant.

Sets out requirements covering minor modifications to existing sprinkler systems of light or ordinary hazard classification, such as the removal, alteration or addition of sprinklers, or the modification or addition of ranges and distribution pipes of limited size.
