Specifies requirements for the performance and construction of air filters for use in general ventilation and airconditioning systems. It classifies air filters on the basis of design, construction performance and application and establishes minimum criteria for acceptance of an air filter into a particular category. It does not apply to HEPA filters.

Specifies the classification of smoke-spill fans, and the laboratory test methods and procedures used to rate their performance (and that of their motors). Fans are rated in terms of their suitability to operate continuously without significant loss of performance, for a specified time at a specified air temperature. This Standard deals only with laboratory type-testing and does not consider the testing of smoke-spill fans after they have been installed in a building.

Specifies minimum requirements for the operation and maintenance of air-handling and water systems of buildings for the purposes of microbial control. It does not include requirements for refrigerated room airconditioners and non-ducted split systems.

Specifies a simple means of referring to common refrigerants instead of using the chemical name, formula, or trade name. It also establishes a uniform system to be used in assigning the proper reference number and classification to refrigerants; the system for refrigerant classification is defined and physical data of common refrigerants listed.

Specifies requirements for safety and environmental aspects in relation to operation, maintenance and repair of refrigerating systems and the recovery, reuse and disposal of all types of refrigerant, refrigerant oil, heat transfer fluid, refrigerating system and part thereof.

Specifies general requirements for the design, installation and commissioning of automatic fire sprinkler systems in buildings.

Specifies requirements for the design, installation and commissioning and testing of fire hydrant installations that are used for the protection of buildings, structures, storage yards, marinas and associated moored vessels, wharves, and plant.

Specifies requirements for distribution, location and installation of fire hose reels.
