The objective of AS/NZS 3820:2020 is to provide a set of criteria for the safety of electrical equipment before being placed on the market. For electrical equipment that is required to be approved/certified/registered by electrical safety legislation before being placed on the market, there are specific regulatory requirements additional to the requirements given in this Standard.

Specifies the design, construction and performance requirements of electrical connectors, for making detachable electrical connections between motor vehicles and trailers.

Sets out requirements for inspection, testing, preventive maintenance and survey of fire protection systems and equipment.

The objective of this Standard is to define and explain the principal terms used in the field of personal eye and face protection.

Specify requirements and test methods for mounted spectacle lenses relative to the prescription order.

Specifies minimum requirements for sunglasses, fashion spectacles and replacement filters that are nominally afocal (plano power)-excluding prescription filters-providing protection against solar radiation for general use including road use and driving.

AS/NZS 1158.1.1:2022 specifies performance and design requirements for Category V lighting schemes, including requirements relating to the energy efficiency of the luminaires used. It also specifies the luminaire data and other design data that is needed to facilitate the lighting design and the assessment  of conformance to the requirements of this document.

Sets out requirements covering minor modifications to existing sprinkler systems of light or ordinary hazard classification, such as the removal, alteration or addition of sprinklers, or the modification or addition of ranges and distribution pipes of limited size.

This Standard applies to single-phase or polyphase, air-cooled (natural or forced) portable inverters having a rated supply voltage not exceeding 60 V ripple-free d.c. and an alternating current (a.c.) output where: - the rated output does not exceed 3 kVA; - the rated output voltage is within the range 50 - 500 volt a.c; - the rated frequency of the output is within the range 40 - 100 Hz.

AS 3786:2022 adopts and modifies ISO 12239:2021 for Australia which specifies requirements, test methods, performance criteria, and manufacturer’s instructions for smoke alarms that operate using scattered light, transmitted light, or ionization, and are intended for household or similar residential applications.
