This Standard provides guidance on noise and vibration control in respect to construction, demolition and maintenance sites. This Standard also provides guidance for the preparation of noise and vibration management plans, work method statements and environmental impact studies.

The objective of this Standard is to standardize the user interface between the firefighter and the control and indicating equipment (c.i.e.) (fire indicator panel), to assist in initial training and ongoing skills maintenance for firefighters from both career and volunteer fire brigades, and to facilitate fire brigade intervention where monitored fire and smoke detection and alarms system are installed as required by the Building Code of Australia (BCA).

Applies to the design, fabrication, erection, repair and alteration of steelwork associated with boilers, pressure vessels, lifts, cranes, mining equipment, gas and liquid petroleum piping systems, bulk handling equipment, and the like in accordance with the working stress design method, but does not apply to road and rail bridges, material less than 3 mm thick, steel for which the design yield stress exceed 450 MPa, and cold-formed members other than those complying with AS 1163.

Sets out requirements for the design and manufacture of equipment used in emergency warning and intercommunication systems installed in buildings to ensure warning in the event of an emergency and assist in the subsequent orderly evacuation of the buildings. Distinctive, easily recognizable, visible and audible signals are specified for the emergency warning system and an independent, integrated emergency intercommunication system between a control centre and other control points is described. Appendices provide information on typical systems and detail test procedures.

This Standard sets out the method for determining the distortion of roof tiles.

Specifies a spectrophotometric method for the determination of cobalt content up to 12 percent in all grades of iron and steel containing less than 10.0 percent copper. The sample is dissolved in acid and nitroso-R-salt added. This forms a red-brown chromophore which is measured spectrophotometrically at 580 nm.

The objective of this Standard is to set out the requirements for amorphous silica for use as a cementitious material in concrete, mortar and related applications.

Specifies a flame atomic absorption spectrometric method for the determination of tin content of iron and steel. The sample is digested in acid, the tin extracted into trioctyl phosphine oxide in 4-methylpentan-2-one (MIBK) and then aspirated into a nitrous oxide/acetylene flame of an atomic absorption spectrometer. The absorption is measured at 235.5 nm.
