Home Building Regulation 2014. (NSW legislation.)

Specifies common plumbing and drainage terms and associated definitions used in areas of the plumbing and drainage sector including product manufacturing specifications, design and installation standards (such as the AS/NZS 3500 series) and regulatory documents.

Provides manufacturers with requirements for determining the fitness for purpose of metal shape or sheet rainwater goods, and metal accessories and fasteners.

Sets out requirements for the classification of a site and the design and construction of a footing system for a single dwelling house, town house or the like which may be detached or separated by a party wall or common wall but not situated vertically above or below another dwelling.

AS/NZS 3500.2:2021 is amended as follows.

Specifies minimum requirements for the design, installation and commissioning of air-handling and water systems of buildings for the purposes of microbial control. It does not include requirements for refrigerated room airconditioners and non-ducted split systems.

Sets out the requirements for the design, installation and commissioning of heated water services using drinking water or rainwater or a combination thereof; includes aspects of the installation from, and including, the valve(s) on the cold water inlet to any cold water storage tank or water heater and the downstream fixtures and fittings; applies to new installations as well as alterations, additions and repairs to existing installations.

This regulation is the Design and Building Practitioners Amendment (Miscellaneous) Regulation 2024. (NSW legislation).

Sets out minimum requirements for the materials, design and installation of waterproofing for domestic wet areas in Class 1, Class 2 and Class 4 buildings as defined in the NCC. It also applies to wet areas within Class 3 to 9 buildings as if it were a Class 2 or 4 part of a building.
